Understand your internal and external customers and maintain good trusting relationships. Prioritise your work to manage customer expectations.
Know the different needs and priorities of your customers and the best way to manage their expectations, recognising how to adapt style to be highly effective.
Establish the facts and build a customer focused experience, responding appropriately, particularly when dealing with conflict and challenge.
Take ownership, demonstrate patience and calmness. Understand the customer’s point of view. Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution meeting customers needs and expectations. Keep customers informed.
Demonstrate personal pride in the job through appropriate dress and positive and confident language.
Frequently and consistently communicate and work with others in the interest of helping customers. Prioritise and plan the completion of tasks according to agreed deadlines. Share personal learning and case studies with others, presenting recommendations, and improvement to support good practice.
Understand your organisation, brand promise, and service culture, upholding the internal policies and external regulations affecting your role.
Know the internal policies and procedures, including any complaints processes and digital media policies that are relevant to you and your organisation. Know the purpose of the business and what ‘brand promise' means.
Use effective interpersonal and influencing skills in all communications with customers.
Use questioning and communication skills, including ‘tone of voice’, listening and responding to build rapport. Provide clear explanations and offer options to help make choices that are mutually beneficial. Show willingness to work with others and share ideas.

Flexible enrolment and delivery
Enrolment is all year round with online eligibility testing. Training can start within 7 days. There is no minimum cohort size. All training is completed in the workplace.
Dedicated sector specialist tutor for the duration of your apprenticeship
This provides continuity and consistency, with a tutor who is familiar with each of the apprentice’s settings and roles.
Content relevance and course length
Expert assessment of prior knowledge and experience to optimise course content and length, important when upskilling existing staff. OTJ hours are not a funding ‘measure’, they are a reflection of the normal activities.
