Oversee school income and expenditure, and ensure budget, financial policies and procedures are adhered to.
Working knowledge of accounting practices, school compliance and procurement regulations. Know the range of data required to inform and report on business decisions. Manages the accurate recording and reporting of finances and complete pre-audit checks.
Facilities and resource maintenance and development through staff and support services in line with legislation.
Support the school development plan and understand the influence of regulatory bodies (DfE, Ofsted, etc) on workforce and planning. Plan, organise and manage processes for optimum deployment of resources targeted to raise pupil attainment and ensure value for money.
Governance and Compliance to ensure the school meets all regulatory and statutory obligations.
Support the preparation of reports for the Governing Body, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date. Act as the point of contact for auditors, inspectors, and external agencies. Implement policies on GDPR, data protection and safeguarding. Procure and manage commercial insurances.
Oversee human resources management including recruitment and compliance with employment legislation.
Understand the complexities of terms and conditions of employment and payroll. Implement HR policies such as safer recruitment, safeguarding and equality legislation and know when, where and how to seek legal advice. Manage the DfE pupil and workforce census.
Work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the school.
Advise the SLT and Governors on business, financial, and operational matters. Report and make recommendations. Drive school efficiency and effectiveness, playing a key role in developing long-term plans.
Oversee the school’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the provision of effective IT systems and support.
Ensure the security and integrity of data, Work with IT staff and external providers to maintain the information systems and implement improvements. Uses multiple IT packages and specialist MIS platforms. Prepare and collate data for reporting purposes.

Flexible enrolment and delivery
Enrolment is all year round with online eligibility testing. Training can start within 7 days. There is no minimum cohort size. All training is completed in the workplace.
Dedicated sector specialist tutor for the duration of your apprenticeship
This provides continuity and consistency, with a tutor who is familiar with each of the apprentice’s settings and roles.
