Develop knowledge and skills by undertaking CPD and continuous self-reflection, seeking and responding to feedback. Know sources of information, and research in order to inform evidence-based practice.
Understand the principles of: behaviours for learning; reflective practice; learner voice; coaching and mentoring; effective working and communication; developing resilience in self and others; recognising signs of vulnerability; the safe use of equipment and resources.
Anticipate and manage behaviour including for individuals and groups or classes in order to promote self-regulation and independence in both formal and informal learning situations.
Understand child development, the theories of learning, the potential barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them. Encourage the learner's voice. Understand the importance of social, cultural context and factors that may lead to inequitable access, Support the social and emotional well-being of learners.
Establish and develop collaborative relationships with parents/carers, colleagues, other professionals and agencies both within and beyond the organisation.
Communicate information to reflect the needs of the audience. Champion the needs of learners and where appropriate, seek professional help and advice. Support the development of others’ effective practices through mentoring and coaching. Challenge issues and undertake difficult conversations.
Use specialist knowledge and critical understanding of curriculum, assessment and pedagogy, to plan, implement, evaluate and adapt sequences of teaching and learning.
Observe, record and report to a range of stakeholders on assessments. Recognise barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them. Use appropriate equipment and emerging technologies. Use relevant additional professional support.
Support in the dissemination of knowledge and critical understanding of practices, including those that relate to sustainability, diversity, equality, equity, and inclusion.
Promote positive values, behaviours and critical understanding of practices and the aims and ethos of the organisation and sector, applying statutory and non-statutory frameworks. Establish a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for learners.

Flexible enrolment and delivery
Enrolment is all year round with online eligibility testing. Training can start within 7 days. There is no minimum cohort size. All training is completed in the workplace.
Dedicated sector specialist tutor for the duration of your apprenticeship
This provides continuity and consistency, with a tutor who is familiar with each of the apprentice’s settings and roles.
Content relevance and course length
Expert assessment of prior knowledge and experience to optimise course content and length, important when upskilling existing staff. OTJ hours are not a funding ‘measure’, they are a reflection of the normal activities.

Functional Skills
Required English and maths is incorporated within our vocational resources from the apprentices’ starting level building to Level 2, all completed within the first 6 to 9 months of the apprenticeship. Our pass rate is 100%.
